West End Dog was established in 2016 to address the growing demand for reliable, professional and caring pet services for pet owners in west Mississauga and east Oakville.

About Moira

Moira is the principal owner/operator of West End Dog. She is a long-time resident of Mississauga and has had a lifelong passion for animals…big, small and everything in between.

For 30 years Moira worked as a social worker and human resources professional in the non-profit sector serving children and at risk youth. She has now turned her attention to her passion of working with dogs, cats and other family pets.

Raised in a family of animal lovers, at age six Moira was given the classroom pet rat to adopt at the end of the school year and a menagerie of animals followed for the next 40 years.

As an adult she and her family have adopted many animals, mostly dogs and cats; some who have had serious physical disabilities: blind, deaf, arthritic, cancer survivors and older animals in need of a loving home.

Moira has always been an ardent supporter of World Wildlife Fund, International Fund for Animal Welfare, Greenpeace and dog rescue organizations, Loyal Rescue and Rescue Dogs Match 

Moira and her family have two adopted rescued dogs. Miska is a deaf, 15 year old Pomeranian who had been abandoned, neglected and abused. Little Trinket is a Yorkshire Terrier who was a breeding mother in a puppy mill for 7 years and now lives the life of a much loved and pampered pet. Trinket and Miska are now enjoying life to the fullest!

Moira supports volunteer run rescue agencies that save dogs that are in high kill shelters across Ontario.
